We currently have 52 staff of whom 9 are registered nurses, 28 are Nursing Auxiliaries and the remainder are ancillary (cooking, cleaning, administration and maintenance). All care staff are encouraged and assisted to pursue NVQ care qualifications. Currently 6 staff have NVQ2 (mostly achieved in practice at Mount Olivet), 4 have NVQ3 and a further 8 are studying towards levels 2, 3 and 4. From a standing start of no qualification requirements for non-RN qualified staff, we will meet the new National Standard of 50% of all care staff being qualified to at least NVQ2.
