We have 25 single and five double rooms,
some with en-suite facilities. The majority of the rooms have either
panoramic sea views from the upper floors or direct access to the garden. The
garden is available to everyone at all times and in summer is equipped with
tables and shades. Patients with mobility difficulties will be taken in and
out as they request. Meals may be taken outside in clement weather assisted
by a carer as required. Room sizes vary from 10 square metres upwards and all
comply with the Care Home Regulations 2003.
Mount Olivet is equipped with a passenger
lift to all floors. The home is designed so that there is no requirement for
stair lifts. Parker and other assisted baths and showers, hoists on each
floor and many other aids facilitate the care of the less able and
wheelchair-bound. There are numerous electrically operated full profiling
beds, high-low beds, pumped air mattresses and pressure care cellular
mattresses allocated according to medical requirement. Patients may provide
their own should they wish and we will advise on suitability.
Rooms are provided with a telephone jack.
where a mobile payphone can be attached for outgoing calls. The home has a
modern telephone exchange and private, direct lines can be installed. In
addition, incoming calls can be received on a digital cordless phone
system.
The home is equipped with a call system in
all rooms, bathrooms and public rooms which can only be turned off at the
source of the call. There is regularly inspected fire alarm, escape and appliances
and staff receive regular fire prevention and evacuation training and drills.
