The Management team consists of:

Robert Gray – Chairman

Robert started the group with his wife, Cherry in 2002. This year, he has finally allowed himself to take a step back from a day-to-day active role in the company, but is still very much involved in the overall management. It is important to him that the Group keep the ethos that he and Cherry have instilled in all the homes.

Stephen Crisp – General Manager

Stephen Crisp joined us from Lincombe Manor and brings with him a wealth of clinical, personnel, management and marketing experience. As well as being the Manager of Mount Olivet Nursing Home, he is also the General Manager for the group and represents the homes as such.

Karen Dykes – Clinical Lead Nurse

After graduating from Plymouth and Exeter University in 1996 Karen secured her first nursing position at Torbay Hospital caring for pre and post operation patients on a busy trauma and orthopaedic ward. This clinical role involved many aspects of care across all ages and Karen invested much of her own time in furthering her clinical understanding and knowledge including completing a second degree in Diabetes.

As a young mum Karen was in need of a career that she could fit in and around her family and was offered an opportunity to work in a local Nursing Home. She went on to work as a Primary Care Nurse and then as a Sister at Paignton Hospital - the first management role of her career. This position involved assessing and evaluating the health and welfare of elderly local residents and implementing health care programmes to safeguard their wellbeing a valuable role in furthering both her clinical experience and expanding her skill set.

Having established a reputation in the local community for her exceptional level of care and expertise, Karen was offered a position by GrayAreas and she quickly progressed on to a senior role at Mount Olivet Nursing Home as Clinical Lead Nurse. GrayAreas Ltd are currently supporting Karen as she undertakes an NVQ Level 5 qualification in Care Management. She continues to attend regular study days enhancing her professional learning and ensuring that our residents receive the best in quality care and within a safe and secure environment.

Karen's interest in clinical training and education has enabled her to manage the in-house training needs of the Devon Care team as well as the clinical audit requirements of the business ensuring that each care home manager is fully compliant when inspected by our regulators. Karen also promotes personalised and individual care for all of our residents and was integral to the development of our Care Pathway services.

Karen's love for her role may be summed up by a recent statement in which she said, “I feel privileged to be involved with this chapter in our residents lives and strive for myself and the team to ensure the residents in our care maintain their independence, personality, privacy, dignity and respect”
