Nursing Care

We specialise in providing high quality, high-dependency nursing care covering a range of needs.

All our rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art electric beds for comfort and to aid the prevention of sores. In addition, the home is comprehensively equipped with several hoists, stand aids and specialist baths to make mobilising and bathing as seamless as possible.

We cover many different types of residential care at Mount Olivet and specialise in high-dependency nursing care. We are also trained to provide:

End-of-life care
Care for Parkinson’s Disease/ MS/ PSP and respiratory conditions, including those on oxygen
Catheter and stoma care
Peg feeding
Care for those with epilepsy
Pressure sore improvement and prevention
Care for those with sensory deprivation
Care for those with swallowing difficulties or requiring assistance during meals
Continence care

Services

The fee quoted for your room covers all personal care, meals, laundry, activities, outings, toiletries and medical sundries.

We also offer extra services within the home, which can be paid for out of a resident’s “Personal Money”. These include:

Newspapers
Hairdressing
Chiropody
Massage
Other services as requested.
Transport to appointments (if a taxi is required)
Chaperoning to appointments

As a new resident, you’ll be assessed by the local authority to see if you are eligible for NHS Funded Nursing Care. This funding contributes to the cost of care and isn’t means tested, so it’s available to anyone who’s assessed as requiring nursing care. If you’re not eligible but still wish to reside at Mount Olivet, you may do so but would have to fund the full cost of care yourself.
